the second assignment

English is too widely spoken for it to die out. It's true that the language is evolving everyday. The other day i was told that "bling" was added to the dictionary now. There are so many words I've never heard of or could even think of a meaning for if i heard them. It's crazy because there are too many words that sound nothing a like but have the same meanings. In class today there was a discussion about the different "dialects" around new jersey, and how if you traveled a few miles out of your area that you wouldnt understand the way others talk. It just goes to show how different our enviornments are that effect the way we learn to communicate with others.

I don't think my thoughts would be that much different if i spoke in a language other then english. I believe my thoughts would change if my enviornment changed along with the language though. People perceive things different based on the culture they were brought up by and the places they live. In general, english will always be here, though not a national language, but thought of as a language to fall back on to communicate to others from different countries since it is so widely spoken.
